Forthcoming congress

Forthcoming congress: 6/7 March 2025: From the stake to internment - The penal system and minorities

The forthcoming congress of the Swiss Group of Criminology aims to inform the public debate on crime and violence in relation to minorities. The term "minorities" should be understood broadly: minorities in the general population (ethnic minorities, people with mental health problems, sexual minorities, etc.), but also people who are underrepresented in offender groups (especially women). How should the criminal justice system treat minorities, and what difficulties does this raise on a daily basis? How can these people be best protected and supported according to their specific needs? And, finally, what is the place of minorities in criminological research?

The vernissage of the book published for the 50 years of existence of the SGC on Criminology in Switzerland - History, State, Future will take place on the evening of March 6, after the GSC's General assembly. You are all welcome. The vernissage will start at 6.30 pm at the conference room of the HOtel Carton Europe.
